Ultra-Wideband: The Core of Precision At the heart of the system is Ultra-Wideband (UWB) wireless communication. UbiTrack uses UWB operating in the 3.5 GHz–6.5 GHz range to transmit very short pulses of radio waves across a wide frequency spectrum. This enables extremely accurate distance measurement based on the “time of flight” of each radio pulse, rather than relying on signal strength. Because it uses very wide bandwidth and very short pulses, UWB is able to withstand interference and multipath reflections better than WiFi, Bluetooth, or RFID systems.
